Lavash bread has been made in Armenia for thousands of years.

When Tricia and I arrived in Armenia’s capital of Yerevan, we had just gotten off an all-night train from Tbilisi, Georgia where we had indulged in a few gluten-free delights.

It was relatively early and Yerevan was beginning to wake up.

We were standing outside our prospective AirBnB apartment when we watched two ladies begin preparing the day’s lavash.

Unfortunately, the lavash was not for sale. However, the ladies were nice enough to offer me a couple of pieces.

Fresh from the oven, the lavash was hot, stretchy, and delicious.

As a lifelong lover of fresh bread, I was grinning from ear-to-ear.

I can’t wait to get back to Armenia to have more tasty lavash.
