A recent article in Search Engine Journal suggests that Google is experimenting with the capability to leave public comments on search engine results pages (SERPs).
With the impending demise of the Google+ social network, the company is looking to try a new approach to social media. By enabling users to add public comments to a SERP, Google will be able to pull people back to the site for more advertisements.
The new feature will initially be limited to sports events. However, the feature will probably be rolled out to other real time events.
