More Tesla All-Electric Semi Trucks Are Coming to Southern California

Californians are electrified about the news that more of Tesla’s battery-powered semi trucks will soon be on the road.

Supermarket chain Albertsons has agreed to purchase 10 new Tesla semis to add to its fleet in the region.

Each truck can cost as much as $200,000, creating a significant upfront cost for Albertsons. The company has over 1,400 semis in its fleet.

However, Tesla trucks can travel up to 800 kilometers on a single battery charge, potentially saving Albertsons $25,000 annually on fuel and maintenance for each semi.

The vehicles are highly automated and could be entirely self-driving in the near future.
