Miso Robotics, a kitchen automation start-up in southern California, recently raised $3.1 million in venture funding.

The company’s flagship robot, Flippy, operates as a burger-flipper in fast-food restaurants. Using a combination of sensors and cameras, the robot can determine when a burger is properly cooked and deliver it to a bun.

Flippy is one of a series of kitchen robots expected to displace most American fast-food workers in the years ahead.
