The ‘New’ Old Town of Bale, Croatia

On Croatia’s Istrian peninsula, olive groves and vineyards encircle the old town of Bale, offering a picturesque setting for innovators. The city’s 500-year-old Soardo-Bembo Palace has recently been renovated, helping to create a center of gravity that attracts jazzy cafes, artists, and artisans to Bale’s historical core.
